The term "Gospel" holds significant weight in both the New Testament and the Qur'an, albeit with differing interpretations. While the New Testament mentions "Gospel" 118 times, the Qur'an refers to it as "Injil" twelve times, often alongside the Torah and Qur'an itself. This juxtaposition suggests that, the Gospel is a divine revelation akin to the Torah and Qur'an. However, Christians perceive the Gospel differently, viewing it not as a sacred text but as the proclamation of eternal life through Jesus Christ's incarnation, crucifixion, and resurrection. This study delves into reconciling the Christian and Qur'anic perspectives on the Gospel, exploring questions regarding its nature and interpretation. By analyzing relevant verses from both texts, the research aims to provide insights into these inquiries. The research methodology involves a systematic analysis of Gospel mentions in each text, followed by a comparative study to identify semantic overlaps. The findings highlight several key points: 1. In Christian theology, the Gospel signifies the message of salvation and eternal life brought by Christ's sacrifice. 2. The Qur'an elevates the Gospel to a status akin to the Torah, suggesting it as a divine revelation bestowed upon Jesus. 3. Some instances of the usage of the Gospel in the New Testament are explicit in Christian theological theory. However, it appears that not all uses of the Gospel align with this interpretation. Instead, certain other uses of the Gospel in the New Testament writings may affirm the Quranic perspective.
