Dr. Mohammad Ghandehari

Mohammad Ghandehari is a scholar of Islamic studies. He holds a Ph.D. (on Kitab Sulaym) from the University of Tehran, Department of Qur’anic and Hadith Studies. His primary research interests are the conversation of the Quran with the Bible and Methodological approaches to the study of Hadith. His publications include “Facing Mirrors: The intertwined golden calf story” (2018). Among the courses he has taught are “The Qurʾan and the Bible” and “Early Shi’i Hadith”.

Professor Dr. Muhammad Legenhausen

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Legenhausen is Professor of Philosophy at the Imam Khomeini Education and Research Institute in Qom, Iran. He also teaches Philosophy at the University of Qom. In his research, Prof. Legenhausen focuses on questions of philosophy of religion, ethics and epistemology. He has also been engaged in interfaith encounters for many years and has published on issues relevant to Shi’ite-Christian dialogue. During his time as Fellow at the CTSI, he lectured on the meaning and significance of Intellectual Humility in interreligious encounters.

Professor Dr. Adnane Mokrani

Prof. Dr. Adnane Mokrani is a Muslim theologian, Professor of Islamic Studies at the Pontifical Gregorian University (PUG) in Rome and Senior Fellow at the Fondazione per le scienze religiose (FSCIRE), the Giorgio La Pira Library and Research Center in Palermo. Former Professor at the Pontifical Institute for Arabic and Islamic Studies (PISAI) in Rome (2009-2020). He holds a Ph.D. in Islamic Theology from al-Zaytuna University in Tunis (1997) and a Ph.D. in Muslim-Christian Relations from the PISAI (2005). Among his writings: Toward an Islamic Theology of Nonviolence, in Dialogue with René Girard, Studies in Violence, Mimesis, and Culture Series, East Lansing: Michigan State University Press, 2022. During his time as a Fellow at the CTSI, he presented his recent works “The Cross in Rūmī’s Maṯnawī” and “Islamic Hermeneutics of Nonviolence: Key Concepts and Methodological Steps”.

Dr. Fatima Tofighi

Dr. Fatima Tofighi is Assistant Professor of Religious Studies at the University of Religions in Qom/Iran. She obtained her PhD in Literature and Theology at the University of Glasgow. She is the author of *Paul’s Lettersand the Construction of the European Self*, (London: Bloomsbury, 2017), and Modern Approaches in the Interpretation of the Scriptures (in Farsi, Tehran: Kargadan, 2022). In her research, she focuses on modern Biblical and Qur'anic interpretation as well as feminist approaches to the scriptures. During her stay as a Fellow at the CTSI, Dr. Tofighi is part of the DFG-funded research project on Christian Prophetology in view of Judaism and Islam.
